George Sikorski, MAI (Chicago)
Mr. Sikorski retired from LaSalle Bank (now Bank of America), Chicago in June 2004. He was the LaSalle Bank’s Chief Appraiser and manager of the Commercial Appraisal Department from May 1989 to June 2004. Prior to LaSalle, he was employed by Home Savings Bank of Los Angeles, California (Savings of America in all other States) as their Commercial Regional Chief Appraiser. His region of responsibility covered all of the United States. He was a commercial/industrial appraiser for 21 years prior to becoming associated with both banks.
Paul Gillespie, MAI (Chicago)

Paul Gillespie, MAI (Chicago)
Paul provides appraisal review of commercial properties and lender risk management training. Previously reviewed appraisal reports & addressed value differences between lenders and appraisers, presented FIRREA and risk management training to senior & junior lenders during 15-years as review appraiser with LaSalle Bank. Co-authored with George A. Sikorski, MAI “Appraisals: Back to the Basics” (The Risk Management Association Journal, June 2004). Lobbied U.S. Congress for three-years on behalf of the Appraisal Institute for legislation to protect appraiser independence. Appraised retail, residential, office, industrial, subdivision, senior care & mixed-use properties nationwide & in Guam as well as feasibility studies during 10-years as commercial real estate appraiser with Joseph J. Blake & Associates. Remains active in Appraisal Institute committees.
Robert Bruce Landis
Robert has prepared numerous appraisals and reviews for court testimony and/or major lending institutions since 1981. Mr. Landis has been active as an appraiser in the Los Angeles, Nashville, and Atlanta & Chicago residential and commercial markets and has reviewed appraisals of all property types nationwide for over twenty years. Mr. Landis also has extensive experience appraising subdivisions and site development.
Kimberly Berryman
Kimberly Berryman has been a Certified Residential Appraiser since 2003. She completed her training and has worked as an independent contractor for Landis Appraisal LTD. She has combined her appraisal knowledge with 15+ years of hospitality facility management experience to function as the Business Manager for LaSalle Commercial Appraisal Management Co. She also completes SF review for LCAM.

Thomas E. Watson, Jr., NBE (DC)
Tom is a self-employed consultant to the financial services institution specializing in regulatory issues involving real estate, real estate appraisal and valuation issues, OREO and real estate lending standards. Tom is a retired national bank examiner and was a credit risk specialist with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) and assigned to the Credit Risk Division. His primary responsibilities included real estate, real estate appraisal and valuation issues, OREO and the real estate lending standards. Tom was either an active participant or the primary author of issuances in these areas, such as the October 2003 Independent Appraisal and Evaluation Functions for over 12 years. Just before his retirement, Tom recently participated in two ABA/AI sponsored panel discussions and attended RMA’s Chief Appraiser Round Tables. Tom was the OCC’s representative to the FFIEC Appraisal Subcommittee. He served as an Alternate Member from April 1997 to March 2000, when he became Chairman. He served in that capacity until March 2002 and then served as a Member until retirement. Finally, Tom has been with the OCC for 36+ years and retired at the end of September 2004.
Wayne Reed, MAI (Houston)
Mr. Reed retired from the Federal government in 1983 after a career in federal law enforcement. Later he joined various appraisal firms in the Houston area until forming Wayne Reed & Associates in 1986. Since that time he and his associates appraised various property types in many states with offices established in Connecticut, Michigan and California. These offices were later consolidated in Houston and continue today. In 2005 he began reviewing reports for LaSalle Bank until purchased by Bank of America.
Austin MacMullan, MAI, CCIM (Atlanta)
Austin MacMullan has 25 years of commercial real estate experience that includes property management, leasing, sales, and appraisal. His technical experience includes acquisition-disposition strategies; appraisal, appraisal management and review; due diligence & underwriting, eminent domain/right-of-way, portfolio analysis & evaluation, property inspection, and strategic planning. Mr. MacMullan has extensive experience with all major commercial property types and a number of special-use properties including aviation hangers, medical office buildings, operating rooms and theme parks. He has appraised property in three countries and 24 states, and many single assets with over two million square feet and/or values as high as $250 million. The largest assignment he has worked on to date is a retail portfolio of 200 assets with an aggregate value of $2 billion. Prior to founding American Real Estate Appraisers, Ltd, Mr. MacMullan was affiliated with Real Estate Research Corporation. His employment history includes Lend Lease Real Estate Investments, EQ Services, Equitable Real Estate Investment Management, Landauer Associates, Home Savings of America, and Pannell Kerr Forster.
Kenneth T. Soergel, MAI (Chicago)
Mr. Soergel has over 20 years of appraisal experience. Properties appraised include virtually all types of conventional real estate, including a significant amount of special purpose properties. In addition, Mr. Soergel has also performed appraisals of health care assets. The appraisals were performed for a wide variety of functions, including lending, litigation, and estate purposes. Other responsibilities have included more than ten years of review experience gained from supervising an appraisal staff as well as heading a national lender’s regional office. Mr. Soergel has reviewed appraisals on a national basis and has performed field appraisals in 12 states. Mr. Soergel received his Masters of Science in Business from the University of Wisconsin at Madison.
Jim King (Chicago)
Mr. King is Senior Vice President of Environmental Risk Innovations, LLC (ERI, an L-CAM affiliate) and has over 15 years of experience in the environmental consulting and environmental risk management industry. Mr. King excels at providing innovative and common sense underwriting strategies to address complex environmental challenges for commercial lenders. Prior to joining ERI, Mr. King was the Environmental Risk Manager for LaSalle Bank, where he spent 12 years. ERI is the nation’s largest environmental risk management consulting firm that specializes in risk management services for commercial lenders worldwide. Founded in 2000, ERI is dedicated to providing commercial lenders with environmental risk management services. ERI is staffed with environmental and financial professionals whose diverse expertise enables ERI to offer a wide variety of traditional and progressive risk management services. ERI does not perform Phase I or Phase II Environmental Site Assessments or other on-site services and, consequently, does not have a financial interest in the recommendations it provides to its clients. ERI’s clients include some of the nation’s largest banks as well as many local and regional banks.
Robert M. Pickens, MAI, CCIM (Nashville)
Mr. Pickens has 30+ years of fee appraisal experience, principal of his firm since 1988. Properties appraised include a diversity of commercial types: office, retail, industrial, lodging, institutional, healthcare, specialty use, development land, as well as conservation easements and natural area lands. Additional experience in consulting, investments and brokerage.
Paul F. Hlubb, Jr. CRE, MAI, SRA (Baltimore-Washington)
Paul has been in the appraisal business since 1971 and is a veteran of both the fee business and institutional appraisal departments. From 1979 to 1999, he served as Vice President and Chief Appraiser of 1st National Bank of Maryland (now M & T). His technical experience includes the management of appraisal departments (commercial and residential), commercial loan underwriting, loan placement, due diligence, portfolio analysis and REO disposal. Paul is also a real estate broker and has been involved with several complex commercial property sales. He is a member of the Counselors of Real Estate, the Appraisal Institute, the Urban Land Institute, the International Real Estate Federation and the National Association of Realtors.
David L. Perry
Mr. Perry has over 35 years in the real estate business, including property management, leasing, and brokerage, with the last 25 as a commercial appraiser and review appraiser. He has prepared appraisals for many of the nation’s largest banks and corporations, and has worked in 44 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and Canada during that time. Appraisals include multi-family housing (including conventional apartments, subsidized apartments, and manufactured housing), seniors housing (nursing homes, independent and assisted living, dementia-care properties, and CCRCs), condominiums (residential, commercial, and industrial), offices and medical/dental offices, hotels and motels, day-care centers, churches, warehouses, manufacturing and flex properties, vacant land (including residential and commercial subdivisions), shopping centers, and restaurants (both full-service and fast-food).
Eileen M. Lach (Chicago)
Ms. Lach has been engaged in the real estate appraisal field since 1990. Her background includes the appraisal of industrial and commercial properties, single- and multi-family residential, retail and office properties, as well as special-purpose properties. Currently, (July 2005 to present), Ms. Lach completes technical appraisal reviews of nationwide properties as an independent contractor for national and local lenders.
From August 1995 through June 2003, she was employed by Bank of America’s Real Estate Risk Assessment group. At the Bank, she reviewed third-party appraisals for lending purposes, completed consulting assignments and prepared in-house appraisals. She also contracted with third-party appraisers and managed the workflow on a regional basis. Property values ranged from $100,000 to $200 million.
Prior to joining Bank of America, she worked as a commercial appraiser for LaSalle Appraisal Group.
Ronald Becker, MAI (Chicago)
Mr. Becker is an independent fee appraiser with over 40 years of experience in real estate valuation, consulting and appraisal review. Assignments have included almost all types of real property located throughout the U.S., with emphasis on investment real estate. Past experience includes serving as the Senior Review Appraiser for the Chicago office of the Resolution Trust Company, as a Senior Vice President with Real Estate Research Corporation, and as Chief Operating Officer of the appraisal division of a subsidiary of Heller Financial. Mr. Becker is a member of the Appraisal Institute and Lambda Alpha International Land Economics Society.He is a past President of the Illinois Chapter of the Appraisal Institute, and has served on the Institute’s National Governing Council.
Albert J. Armada, MAI, CCIM (Miami)
Mr. Armada brings more than 19 years of appraisal experience with an additional six years of experience as a facilities manager for the City of Miami. He has demonstrated expertise in both Commercial Property and Municipal Property Valuation. Mr. Armada is a Member Appraisal Institute and a Certified Commercial Investment Member.
